You can now click the icon to the far-right of the top-level formula bar and it will pop out into its own window. Meaning you can move this to another monitor, or resize to another area of the screen.

What you wind up with is a fully moveable/resizeable window that you can use to change what property you are editing (but not what control) and edit the code associated with it.
The name of the app (for those of us w/ >1 sessions open), is at the top even. And the name of the control at the top-right, w/ the selectable property being editing in a dropdown. Sooo...maybe..just maybe...this will work well.
There is a little "Synched" icon to the upper-right, so I'd keep an eye on that. If you close your active editor window then you'll wind up with something similar to:
If you re-open your original editor session, it doesn't reconnect, so it probably would have been better to just close this window too, but hey, I'll take any level of win we get at this point.
Find/Search work as expected as well. Not at all a terrible effort from a team who seems to be delivering nothing but pain for the past few years.![]() |

Final Thoughts
I mean, what else is there to say. They didn't 100% screw something up here. Sure, I'd like a desktop editor vs. a web one that doesn't require an active connection and I could save files locally, but...this is definitely an improvement.
It doesn't require dataverse. It doesn't require a premium license. It doesn't require me to click through 8 copilot icons to get it and THERE IS NO COPILOT ICON ON THE POPOUT SCREEN. So maybe. Just maybe. Somebody got fired for shoving all of this hot garbage water down our throats.
However, w/ 60k Microsoft employees being given the "opportunity" to retire early w/ a cash check to keep their wh0re mouths shut, I'd guess they don't want to see whatever has been going on over there appearing on the news, bookshelves, or podcasts anytime soon.
Now please fix the inability to reliably edit the names of controls on the parameters window.
